It is 1940. As curious as she is, Lise discovers that her father and brother are members of the IJsselmuiden resistance. Against her brother's wishes, she also joins the group. Her work as a resistance fighter is in danger when the German soldier Kurt is billeted at her home. When they are forced to go into hiding together, hatred slowly turns into love. The bond that develops causes them to risk everything for each other, even if it endangers their own safety.
